CANCOM Cyber Security Report 2026: AI Intensifies the Threat Landscape – Digital Sovereignty Becomes a Strategic Success Factor

Cyberattacks remain the greatest business risk for companies worldwide. At the same time, artificial intelligence (AI), geopolitical tensions, and new regulatory requirements are fundamentally changing the security landscape. The new CANCOM Cyber Security Report 2026 analyzes these developments. For the report, CANCOM’s cybersecurity experts analyzed current threat trends, regulatory developments, and technological innovations, combining them with experience gained from security projects, incident response operations, and the operation of the Cyber Defense Center.

CANCOM Named “AI Innovator” by the German Innovation Institute

CANCOM was honored as an “AI Innovator” as part of an independent study conducted for the BIG BANG AI Festival 2026. The study, carried out in collaboration with the German Innovation Institute (diind), analyzed the AI capabilities of 1,000 companies. CANCOM achieved 82 out of a possible 100 points and was rated “excellent.” The award was presented during the OMR Festival in Hamburg in May 2026.

CANCOM continues to expand its leading position in the digital signage market: In the latest 2026 yearbook from invidis consulting, a global consulting firm specializing in digital transformation, the digital business provider and AI enabler has secured first place in the DACH region for the seventh consecutive year and, for the first time, ranks among the top three providers in the EMEA region. The rankings were announced at the Digital Signage Summit Europe (DSS), which took place on May 20 and 21, 2026, at Munich Airport.
