  • 106 apprentices and dual-track students are starting at CANCOM in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland
  • Welcome Days from September 2–4, 2026, help new hires get started and foster networking
  • Workshops cover the basics of IT, learning, and training culture—this year with a new focus on AI

CANCOM welcomes a total of 106 new apprentices and dual-track students in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland at the start of the 2026 training year. Of these, 97 young professionals are beginning their careers at 16 German CANCOM locations. Eight additional apprentices are starting in Austria, and one in Switzerland.

The Welcome Days, taking place from September 2 to 4, 2026, at the CANCOM location in Jettingen-Scheppach, kick off the program. During the three-day event, the new apprentices and dual students will get to know the company, its corporate strategy, and CANCOM’s service portfolio. The program is complemented by numerous opportunities for cross-location networking and personal interaction.

“Starting a career is an important step. With our Welcome Days, we create a shared setting where new apprentices and dual-track students can get to know one another, make connections, and experience CANCOM as a company. At the same time, through hands-on workshops on IT, learning, and artificial intelligence, we provide them with initial inspiration for their future training paths,” says Claudia Ade, Senior Manager of Trainees & Talents at CANCOM.

New AI Focus at the Welcome Days

For the first time this year, artificial intelligence is also on the program with its own workshop. Under the title “Understand AI – Use AI,” the young professionals will explore the fundamentals and potential applications of AI. Other program items cover topics such as IT fundamentals, learning methods, CANCOM’s values and training culture, as well as experiences from day-to-day training. Cybersecurity in an AI-driven world is also part of the event.

Twelve apprenticeship programs and nine dual study programs

Of the 97 new trainees in Germany, CANCOM is maintaining the number of new apprenticeships at last year’s level. Of these, 80 are starting in the IT sector, 14 in business-related fields, two in logistics, and one in the creative sector. In total, CANCOM offers twelve different apprenticeship programs and five dual study programs. The new recruits most frequently chose to train as IT specialists for system integration, IT systems management clerks, or IT systems electronics technicians.

Training Program Recognized Multiple Times

CANCOM has been recognized multiple times in a row by the business magazine CAPITAL and the IHK as one of Germany’s best training companies. The evaluation criteria include, among other things, the support and development of young talent, teaching methods, and the forward-looking nature and innovation of the training programs offered.
