  • CANCOM Scores 82 Out of 100 Points in an Independent AI Study Involving 1,000 Companies
  • The Award Recognizes CANCOM’s Holistic Approach to Implementing Strategic and Operational AI Projects
  • The Evaluation Confirms CANCOM as an Experienced Partner for Scalable and Productive AI Applications

CANCOM was honored as an “AI Innovator” as part of an independent study conducted for the BIG BANG AI Festival 2026. The study, carried out in collaboration with the German Innovation Institute (Deutsches Innovationsinstitut, diind), analyzed the AI capabilities of 1,000 companies. CANCOM achieved 82 out of a possible 100 points and was rated “excellent.” The award was presented during the OMR Festival in Hamburg in May 2026.

The study evaluates companies based on various criteria related to the use and implementation of artificial intelligence. These include, among other things, AI strategy, technological integration, innovation capacity, and employee training.

Companies are increasingly facing the key challenge of not only deploying AI solutions on an ad hoc and isolated basis, but also integrating them into existing IT and business processes in a structured, secure, and cost-effective manner. Against this backdrop, the award recognizes CANCOM as a provider that offers customers comprehensive support in implementing such AI projects—from strategic planning through integration to the stable operation of productive applications.

“Many companies are currently investing in individual AI applications but are running into limitations when it comes to integration, scaling, and operation,” says Daniel Kiehl, Director of the Competence Center Cloud & Datacenter at CANCOM, who accepted the award at the OMR Festival in Hamburg. “Small and medium-sized businesses, in particular, often face uncertainties regarding operational reliability, scalability, and regulatory requirements. In practice, AI projects frequently fail for these reasons, even though they actually have great potential. It is therefore crucial to take a holistic approach to AI. Only then will AI applications run reliably, be scalable, and be economically viable.”

The study also provides guidance for companies and government agencies in selecting suitable partners for AI projects. For IT decision-makers, the key question is which providers offer not only technological expertise but also experience in the sustainable integration of AI into existing corporate structures. External evaluations help to better assess proposals and make competencies more transparent.
