ISG market report: CANCOM is one of the most important digitisation partners in the German healthcare sector
ISG recognizes CANCOM as a leader in digital transformation services for healthcare providers and payers for the third year in a row
The report particularly emphasizes CANCOM’s in-depth industry knowledge of the German healthcare market
In addition, CANCOM scores with a very broad healthcare IT portfolio with a special focus on XaaS
CANCOM again emerges from the latest ISG Provider LensTM- study “Healthcare Digital Services 2022” as the leader in the categories “Payer Digital Transformation Services” and “Provider Digital Transformation Services”. According to the analysis by the leading technology research company, CANCOM has a highly attractive product and service offering and a distinctly strong market and competitive position. This makes the hybrid IT service provider one of the most important digitization partners of the German healthcare sector.
According to the ISG study, the German healthcare industry continues to be under pressure: from patients and legislation, but also from exploding costs for medical technology, the rising shortage of skilled workers, and the increasingly aging population. Digital transformation therefore remains a highly relevant topic in healthcare. On the one hand, as a means of optimizing processes and workflows and making better use of existing capacities, and on the other hand, to improve the patient experience and the care they receive. What is needed are IT service providers with in-depth industry knowledge who can reconcile innovative developments and modern healthcare solutions with strict legal regulations – like CANCOM.
Leader in Payer Digital Transformation Services
“With its own Security Operations Center and its own fiber-optic backbone, a very broad range of IT solutions and services, and an extensive network of partners for IT and healthcare solutions, CANCOM is a provider clearly specialized in the German healthcare market,” concludes Oliver Nickels, lead analyst for the study. There are only a few of these among the major IT service providers in Germany.
In the “Payer Digital Transformation Services” category, for example, CANCOM is among the top service providers for payers such as statutory health insurance funds and private health insurers. “CANCOM offers a very broad range of services here. This includes assessments, IT and business consulting, provision, implementation and operation of IT solutions. The main topics range from devices & sensors, data access/IoT and networks to collaboration, security, storage & archives and analytics to IT process automation and the optimization of business processes,” Nickel continues. The IT service provider also scores points for its strong partnerships with leading IT providers and cloud service providers. A particular focus is on everything-as-a-service offerings (XaaS) for the healthcare market. To this end, CANCOM maintains special partnerships with healthcare providers such as prometheus, bewatec, and Varian.
Leader in Provider Digital Transformation Services
In the “Provider Digital Transformation Services” category, CANCOM also leads the ranking of best IT service providers thanks to its wealth of healthcare experience. Here, ISG looks at service providers that drive the digital transformation of healthcare providers with in-depth expertise, the latest technologies, and methods. This includes hospitals, nursing homes and rehab facilities, as well as medical care centers and laboratories. The focus is on cost control, effective processes and positive patient experience.
“CANCOM is continuously expanding and strengthening its range of solutions and has made great strides, particularly in the areas of its own integrated healthcare solutions, as well as in data backup and archiving, multicloud services, and a special cloud automation library,” Oliver Nickels says, explaining his assessment. He also emphasizes CANCOM’s complete range of managed services and as-a-service offerings, as well as its close proximity to customers: “In market comparison, CANCOM stands out above all in the areas of Healthcare Digital Workplace with its own solutions, and with its range of network and security solutions. In addition, CANCOM is close to its customers and enjoys the trust of a large number of healthcare providers.”
