The new Service Factory North will enable faster IT rollouts and lifecycle services for customers in northern Germany starting in summer 2026
4,250 m² of space with automated conveyor lanes and up to 440 staging bays for equipment deployment
Up to 100 new jobs planned in logistics, service, project management, and IT services
CANCOM is expanding its supply chain infrastructure in Germany and building a new Service Factory North with state-of-the-art equipment in the greater Hamburg area. The new facility in Norderstedt, north of Hamburg, covers approximately 4,250 square meters and is expected to begin operations in Q3 2026. With the new facility, CANCOM is significantly expanding its capacities for the provision, configuration, and lifecycle services of IT workstations while simultaneously reducing delivery and service times for customers in northern Germany.
The new, modern Service Factory complements the existing logistics and service location in Jettingen-Scheppach, southern Germany, and enables CANCOM to implement projects and services closer to customers on a regional basis in the future. In particular, companies and public organizations in northern Germany will benefit from faster rollouts, shorter logistics routes, and standardized IT services.
“Demand for IT lifecycle services has risen significantly in recent years. As a result, the capacity of our Service Factory in Jettingen-Scheppach is increasingly reaching its limits. With the new Service Factory North, we are creating additional resources and can simultaneously operate closer to our customers in northern Germany—quickly, scalably, and at the same quality level as in the south of the country,” says Markus Konhäuser, Director of Service Factory. “The first customer projects to be handled by the new Service Factory are already scheduled.”
Faster IT rollouts for companies in the north
The Service Factory North will be equipped with five double-sided stream lanes, offering a total of 440 workstations for the parallel configuration of IT devices. In addition, a separate lane for certified data erasure with 48 stations is available. This allows for the efficient handling of both large rollout projects as well as replacement and refresh cycles. Services include, among other things, the preparation and configuration of end devices, lifecycle services, and logistical processes related to IT workstations. Service technicians then handle the installation and commissioning of the systems directly at the customer’s site. The new Service Factory will create up to 100 new jobs in the areas of logistics, services, project management, and service engineering for customer-focused IT services.
The building itself is a new construction that meets current standards in energy efficiency, security, and fire safety. Additionally, a rooftop photovoltaic system is planned to cover part of the energy demand and thus contribute to the sustainable operation of the site.
Expansion of the CANCOM Supply Chain
With the Service Factory North, CANCOM is expanding its existing logistics and service concept, which is already in place at the Jettingen-Scheppach site in southern Germany. There, CANCOM operates a Service Factory with approximately 4,000 square meters of floor space and automated stream lines featuring a total of 1,380 refueling stations. In 2025, approximately 400,000 devices were staged there.
