- CANCOM Cloud Marketplace is being expanded with STACKIT, offering a European cloud platform for data sovereignty, security, and compliance.
- With hosting in Germany and Austria, GDPR compliance, various certifications, and stability provided by the Schwarz Group, STACKIT offers a genuine European alternative to hyperscalers.
- CANCOM Cloud Marketplace combines cloud services such as STACKIT with solutions from international hyperscalers, enabling companies to implement a flexible multi-cloud strategy from a single source.
The entire STACKIT cloud portfolio is now available via the CANCOM Cloud Marketplace. This gives companies, organizations, and public sector clients access to a secure, GDPR-compliant, and technologically flexible platform that meets the highest requirements for data sovereignty, security, and regulatory compliance. Customers also have a wide selection of multi-cloud solutions, ranging from sovereign cloud services to solutions from large hyperscalers.
With the integration into the CANCOM Cloud Marketplace portfolio, companies now have access to STACKIT’s complete cloud platform, which is hosted entirely in Germany and Austria. This means that data remains under European control, GDPR-compliant, and free from access by non-European authorities (e.g., CLOUD Act) – particularly relevant for companies and authorities that work with sensitive data.
“Data sovereignty is playing an increasingly crucial role in meeting legal IT compliance requirements. We are seeing steadily growing demand in the market for sovereign cloud solutions, particularly in the public sector, critical infrastructure, and the media industry. With the integration of the STACKIT Cloud, we are expanding our multi-cloud offering and providing our customers with a powerful, legally compliant, and flexible solution from a single source,“ says Peter Weisbach, Senior Vice President Unified Commerce at CANCOM.
”The partnership with CANCOM underscores our shared mission to build a strong European cloud ecosystem. Together, we are making sovereign cloud infrastructures available to a broader range of customers, thereby creating a genuine alternative to non-European hyperscalers. “This will strengthen the digital independence of the economy and the public sector,” says Bernd Wagner, CEO of STACKIT and Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Schwarz Digits.
Sovereign cloud with premium standards
STACKIT impresses with the highest security and compliance standards: with the BSI’s C5 certification, customers benefit from one of the highest security standards on the German market. STACKIT is also one of the few data-sovereign providers that offer confidential computing or are certified by the backup provider VERITAS. Additional certifications such as ISO 27001, ISO 20000, ISAE 3000 (SOC 2), and ISAE 3402 further demonstrate maximum data security. Geo-redundant data centers in Germany and Austria ensure high availability of up to 99.98%.
Technological flexibility & economic stability
The platform relies on open technologies such as Kubernetes and transparent pay-as-you-go models. This makes it easier to move applications between different providers and avoids dependencies on a single provider. As part of the Schwarz Group, STACKIT also benefits from long-term economic stability. The cloud was originally developed for Lidl and Kaufland’s own business areas and is therefore tried and tested.
Industry-specific solutions & regulatory focus
STACKIT offers solutions specifically tailored to different industries. For the public sector and critical infrastructures, the platform works with partners such as govdigital, Dataport, and Wire and supports sovereign AI assistants, among other things. In the media industry, STACKIT is working with Qvest to build a GDPR-compliant media cloud that is workflow-optimized and suitable for hybrid multi-cloud environments. In addition, companies can rely on sovereign solutions for enterprise software such as ERP systems (for controlling business processes) and BI applications (for data analysis) in cooperation with partners such as SAP and MicroStrategy. Deloitte also offers end-to-end consulting services, for example for cloud governance, multi-cloud design, and certification processes.
Multi-cloud offering from a single source
The CANCOM Cloud Marketplace pursues a multi-cloud approach: Customers can flexibly combine different cloud services, add resources quickly and scalably, and manage their entire multi-cloud landscape via a monthly total bill. STACKIT positions itself as a European alternative to non-European hyperscalers—for anyone who takes digital sovereignty seriously and wants to use modern cloud technologies.
