ISG Provider Lens: CANCOM once again takes top positions in Managed Services and Managed Hosting for the midmarket

  • ISG study “Next-Gen Private/Hybrid Cloud – Data Center Solutions & Services 2022” identifies CANCOM as one of the leading hybrid IT service providers
  • ISG recognizes broad XaaS portfolio, integrated SOC solutions and hybrid offerings of private and public cloud in managed services sector
  • Ranking also confirms expertise of CANCOM in high-security data centers and managed security services

In the recently published ISG Provider Lens “Next-Gen Private/Hybrid Cloud – Data Center Solutions & Services 2022”, the market research institute once again ranked CANCOM as the leading provider in the areas of managed services and managed hosting for the midmarket in Germany. ISG (Information Service Group) attributes the ranking primarily to the broad and innovative portfolio of CANCOM and its distinctly strong market and competitive position.

According to the study, companies are increasingly turning to hybrid solutions – a mix of private and public cloud. Medium-sized companies in particular are often unable to meet the challenges of this complex model on their own and are increasingly turning to the expertise of a strong IT partner. To create more market transparency, the market research institute ISG identified and evaluated the most relevant IT service providers in its study “Next-Gen Private/Hybrid Cloud – Data Center Solutions & Services 2022”. According to the study, CANCOM is one of the leading providers of managed services and managed hosting for the midmarket in Germany.

Innovative XaaS portfolio and Managed Security Services

“CANCOM has an innovative XaaS portfolio that the hybrid IT service provider is constantly developing, especially in SOC solutions,” says ISG, explaining its rating as a leader in the managed services segment. The addition of nearshoring locations also enriches the portfolio. ISG also sees the CANCOM Cloud Marketplace as an important advantage for SMEs, offering a customized hybrid mix of private and public cloud that is easy to integrate and manage. The customer always retains an overview of all workloads and does not have to worry about managing them. The portfolio includes services from hyperscalers such as AWS, Microsoft and Google.

“With the highly standardized XaaS products, we offer our customers an all-round worry-free package. Medium-sized companies in particular, which usually do not have the appropriate resources to manage and operate hybrid IT solutions independently, thus benefit from an important competitive advantage. We provide them with IT and the associated services quickly, flexibly and scalably as a pure service, so that the companies can focus fully on their core business,” explains Werner Schwarz, Vice President Strategy & Innovation at CANCOM. Private cloud structures can be managed from customer owned or CANCOM data centers, and the public cloud environment can be operated from CANCOM data centers or from Hyperscaler data centers. ISG adds as a further plus point that CANCOM is adding vertical technology stacks to its service portfolio. Among others, CANCOM already offers services for the education and healthcare sectors.

Highest security standards in managed hosting

In the managed hosting segment for medium-sized companies in Germany, CANCOM achieves the lead quadrant primarily due to its expertise in the 24×7 operation of business-critical IT environments in high-security data centers. In this context, CANCOM can take over complete operational responsibility for the local IT infrastructure – from storage systems to virtualized applications to enterprise-wide private clouds. For this purpose, CANCOM uses its own data centers, which are located exclusively in Germany. This ensures maximum information security and availability – as evidenced by the demanding ISO 27001/27017 and ISAE 3402 certifications.

“With its end-to-end managed hosting and security services, CANCOM guarantees high overall availability for the entire system, from application operation in the data center to site networking and data transfer in the on-site network. Through partnerships with major hardware and software providers, CANCOM can offer customized hybrid and multi-cloud models,” says ISG. A broad portfolio of managed security services ensures that the IT security requirements of medium-sized companies are met. Analogous to the tariff models in cloud computing, CANCOM has aligned its security solutions as an on-demand service in the “as-a-service” model. The solutions are based on the technologies of the leading security specialist.
