ISG again rates CANCOM’s Cybersecurity Solutions & Services as market leader

  • CANCOM has further strengthened its leading market position in the areas of “Managed Security” and “Technical Security Services”
  • ISG analysts particularly highlight the Security Operation Center (SOC) in Germany and the Cybersecurity-as-a-Service offering
  • CANCOM is listed as a Market Challenger in the “Strategic Security Services” segment

In its current Provider LensTM study “Cybersecurity – Solutions and Services 2023”, the market research company ISG rates CANCOM as one of the top providers of “Managed Security Services” and “Technical Security Services”. This puts the hybrid IT service provider in the top positions for the fourth time in a row, thanks in part to its comprehensive cybersecurity portfolio and SOC operations from Germany. This year, CANCOM is also listed in the “Strategic Security Services” category and was ranked as a market challenger by ISG.

Nowadays, every company finds itself in the crosshairs of cybercriminals. From a security perspective, hybrid work models in particular increase the attack surface for cyberattacks. According to Palo Alto Networks’ recent and globally conducted “What’s Next in Cyber 2022” study, 96 percent of the 1,300 executives surveyed experienced at least one security breach in the last 12 months, with 57 percent experiencing three or more breaches, and 84 percent agreed (to varying degrees) that they experienced more security incidents due to hybrid work.

The Palo Alto Networks study shows how threatening the current situation is for businesses. Effective cyber defense is therefore essential. The current ISG study provides an overview of the leading security providers and highlights CANCOM in this context as an ideal partner, especially for medium-sized customers.

Technical Security Services: Modern solutions for all customer segments and especially for KRITIS operators

ISG justifies CANCOM’s designation as a leader in “Technical Security Services” by pointing out that CANCOM offers dedicated cybersecurity solutions for various industries, including specifically for operators of critical infrastructures (KRITIS). CANCOM thus meets the requirements of this market segment, which is confronted with increasing demands with regard to cybersecurity – and not only as a result of the latest new legal regulations.

In order to be able to offer its customers a modern portfolio and solutions from a single source, CANCOM has launched an extensive initiative, according to the market research company. The goal, it says, is standardization and simplification, without losing sight of sustainability. Particularly noteworthy is the merging of the Network and Security Competence Centers, which is highly relevant given the growing importance of SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) solutions.

“CANCOM’s comprehensive cybersecurity portfolio includes planning, implementation and managed services, and is tailor-made for medium-sized and large enterprises. With its holistic approach, CANCOM addresses the needs of its customers and offers IT and cybersecurity solutions from a single source,” ISG commented on the award.

ISG also points out that CANCOM has a clear and strong focus on the midmarket segment with regard to its Managed Security Services, which shows growth potential. More and more medium-sized companies are realizing that they, too, are increasingly exposed to cyberattacks. At the same time, they often lack the ability to meet these challenges on their own due to the shortage of skilled workers. For the protection of IT infrastructure and the ongoing management of cybersecurity solutions, managed security services tailored to SMEs are therefore attracting increasing interest.

Another advantage for SME customers, according to ISG, is CANCOM’s dedicated Security Operations Center (SOC) in Germany. This meets the expectations of many midmarket companies. “CANCOM’s comprehensive, growing portfolio of Managed Security Services covers a wide range of managed technologies and offers numerous services. Here, it pays off that CANCOM has set itself a very comprehensive roadmap. The provider is continuously working on the further development of its service portfolio,” added ISG.
