In the Crisp Vendor Universe 2017 report – a comprehensive analysis of the local B2B market for providers of cloud-related services – CANCOM is rated as one of Germany’s leading service providers. In the “Managed Public & Hybrid Cloud Provider” segment, the analysts categorise CANCOM as an “accelerator”. They use this term to refer to providers which currently have within their portfolio the best solutions and services within the corresponding market segment.
A key strategic focus: the BusinessCloud Marketplace
For Crisp Research, a vital factor here is CANCOM’s “BusinessCloud Marketplace” activity (marketplace.cancom.de), as this enables public cloud service providers to be strategically integrated into the group’s product and service portfolio. “CANCOM benefits from both its early move into the cloud market and its broad portfolio of services,” explains Luisa Lemmermann, a junior analyst at Crisp Research. “As a result, and thanks to the expertise of its consultants and architects, CANCOM has now been able to successfully implement some large-scale enterprise projects itself – as can already be seen in some of its success stories in this field.”
Public cloud services for business-critical tasks
The services categorised by Crisp Research as “Managed Public & Hybrid Cloud” provision add substantial value to CANCOM’s classic offering in the private and hosted private cloud areas, as CANCOM’s COO Rudolf Hotter agrees: “Increasingly often now, organisations are asking public cloud providers to supply software, platforms and infrastructure ‘as a service’ (SaaS, PaaS and IaaS) to supplement their existing information technology in a flexible, scalable and cost-effective way.” With those services which were praised by Crisp Research, CANCOM fulfils precisely this requirement, thereby positioning itself perfectly for future market needs. On this point, Rudolf Hotter adds, “We are very pleased with the assessment by the Crisp Research analysts, as it acknowledges our move to becoming a provider of customer-focused multi-cloud services.”
