The EU Commission’s Directorate-General for Informatics (DIGIT) has awarded CANCOM a contract for the delivery of IT hardware with associated services. As a result of the call for tenders "Data Center Compute Solutions (DCCS)" the European Commission and more than 50 participating entities, including the European Parliament and the European Court of Justice, can secure data center infrastructure and associated services through the agreed-upon order management system.
The signed framework contract will amount to a total volume of up to 100 million euros and will run for four years. CANCOM will perform the contract, which encompasses approx. up to 7,000 server systems in five different categories of blade and rack servers, in cooperation with its longstanding partner Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE).
CANCOM is responsible for the entire project management and assumes responsibility for operational implementation and control within the framework of the contract. The servers will be configured and the desired software installed in the central service factory. Moreover, CANCOM’s logistics and service network will ensure timely delivery and optional installation to the EU institutions in question, which are located in Belgium, Luxembourg, and Strasbourg as well as to further locations within the entire European Union. CANCOM implements the sophisticated service concept throughout Europe together with the innovative service organization HPE Pointnext, using mission critical HPE Data Center Care services.
