CANCOM, a leading Digital Business Provider and AI Enabler, today announced a comprehensive, on-premises AI infrastructure reference architecture solution designed to help enterprises deploy AI workloads securely and at scale, built on FlexPod AI from Cisco and NetApp.

Developed in collaboration with industry leaders Cisco, NVIDIA, and NetApp, the AI reference architecture solution from CANCOM is built on FlexPod AI a Cisco and NetApp validated, turnkey architecture. It is designed to combine compute, networking, storage and AI software in an integrated platform, providing organizations with a turnkey foundation to embed generative AI and machine learning into core business processes.

Empowering Enterprise AI with the FlexPod AI Stack

The reference architecture solution from CANCOM built on FlexPod AI is designed to address the key requirements of modern enterprise AI: security, scalability, and performance. By utilizing the FlexPod AI stack — powered by NVIDIA RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs and NVIDIA AI Enterprise software, Cisco UCS compute and Cisco Nexus Networking, and NetApp AFF A90 all-flash storage — CANCOM provides a high-performance infrastructure reference architecture for running AI workloads in customers’ own data centers.

This aims to enable organizations to implement AI models, such as RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) solutions and Vision AI, while retaining control over their infrastructure and sensitive business data.

“Our goal is to remove the barriers to AI adoption,” said RĂĽdiger Rath, CANCOM CEO, at the ceremonial unveiling during CANCOM LIVE in Darmstadt. ” By combining CANCOM’s AI expertise and services with FlexPod AI, we are providing a risk-free path for our customers to test and implement AI, ensuring their data remains protected and compliant while delivering immediate, tangible business value.”

From AI Infrastructure to a Sovereign & Secure AI Factory

For organizations with additional requirements for data sovereignty, security and regulatory compliance, CANCOM offers the Sovereign & Secure AI Factory (SAIF). Building on FlexPod AI as its technological foundation, SAIF adds dedicated security, governance and sovereignty capabilities to the underlying architecture, creating a controlled environment for deploying and operating sensitive AI workloads. It combines the performance and scalability of FlexPod AI with additional safeguards designed to give organizations greater control over their data, infrastructure and AI applications while supporting compliance with requirements such as GDPR.

“With AI moving from experimentation to large-scale deployment, data governance and control remain critical success factors,” said Cassie Roach, VP of Global Partner Sales, AI Infrastructure & Connectivity at Cisco. “By leveraging the CANCOM solution, built on FlexPod AI, enables businesses to deploy AI workloads on-premises, providing the security and control essential for enterprises.”

Risk-Free Testing and Deployment

A central pillar of the reference architecture solution from CANCOM built on FlexPod AI is the “Risk-Free Test” program, which gives customers the opportunity to utilize the pre-installed use cases or run their own specific use cases to test out the validated FlexPod AI design before making an infrastructure investment. Pre-configured enterprise use cases are going to include:

  • CANCOM Assistant: A secure, on-prem RAG solution for internal knowledge management.
  • Digital Voice Agent: Advanced voice/chat support for front-office automation.
  • Document Classification & Analysis: A solution for AI-powered document classification, form validation, and compliance automation.

The validated and preconfigured architecture is designed to reduce the effort required to set up an enterprise AI environment and provides a consistent foundation from initial testing to production. Customers can evaluate the technical feasibility and business value of their AI use cases in a realistic environment and, once validated, transition them into production with minimal additional integration effort.
